Baer SS4+ Drag Spec Rear Brake Systems

 

  • Features stainless pistons, slightly heavier than aluminum pieces but transfer less heat back into the fluid.
  • Dual seals (dust/weather and pressure) to meet D.O.T specifications
  • Square shoulder seals as opposed to O-rings product maximum retraction for minimum drag. Eliminates the need for residual valves
  • Deeper/longer pistons also prevent "cocking" in the bore. Remove the pad completely and even with the rotor at Min. thickness the piston will never fall out of the bore!
  • S4 pads install from underneath the caliper, pad can never exit out of the top.
  • Stainless abutment plates eliminate wear of the aluminum body and minimize pad movement and noise.
  • Each S4 caliper is built to a specific rotor thickness. Baer does not use spacers between caliper halves.
  • All systems with hubs come with ARP 1/2 x 20 3" race studs, and billet dust caps.
  • Rear 11" will match the front SS4+ and is our smallest rear offering (no park brake).
  • All 11" rotors are directionally vaned (specific left and right), better cooling and stability over straight vaned rotors.


The SS4+ front Drag Spec system was designed due to a need for a small, light weight brake for the ever growing and popular radial classes. Many customers have adapted brakes that are really designed for vehicles weight under 3000lbs to these heavier, fast cars with little luck. This system is the first of its kind designed to be used on 3200+ lb cars, and work properly!


Rear SS4+ Drag Spec systems feature our unique billet caliper mount that not only locates the caliper, but also acts as a bearing retainer. The caliper bracket will have 2 positions so if you want to upgrade later to a second set of calipers an additional bracket is not required.


Hats drilled for both 5 on 4.5 and 5 on 4.75 bolt circle. Includes one set of rear calipers. Axle flange needs to be 5.75", our standard pilot diameter is 2.780" Deep Stage Drag Racing Single Caliper rear system. 1/2" stud holes standard. Can be machined for 5/8" studs. Includes fittings, 11 inch rotors, no hoses.
