The Junkyard Dog Nitrous Camshaft for SBE "Single Plane" Cathedral Port cam is an aggressive and powerful camshaft created for drag racing where a large amount of nitrous is being used on a stock bottom end engine using a carburetor or single plane intake manifold and cathedral port heads. This camshaft is an excellent choice for enthusiasts who want to push their stock short block to its limits. This camshaft is designed to get maximum performance out of a single plane equipped 5.7 to 6.2 liter stock short block while still maintaining acceptable valve clearance without fly-cutting the pistons in cathedral port headed engines. However, it is still the owner's/engine builder's responsibility to verify sufficient clearance during installation. Also, milling of the heads, installing a thinner head gasket or installing larger diameter valves will reduce your piston to valve clearance. The Junkyard Dog Single Plane Camshaft has a very lopey idle. This camshaft is designed to be used for vehicles equipped with headers, high flow exhaust, increased stall speed torque converter and increased rear axle ratios.
